Rosalind Winn Baty affectionately known as Dr. Roz is a spiritual midwife who masquerades as an educator, speaker, and training and development practitioner. She says, “My purpose in life is to help others birth what God has placed in them through teaching and writing on biblical truth and to train leaders at every level to be proficient communicators in their vocations and professional ministries. It gives me great joy to help people push past mediocrity, fear, anxiety, hurt, and self-doubt so they can walk in power and freedom to achieve their goals via self reflection, authenticity, compassion, and purpose-centered communication practices. I assist others in strengthening the power of their own voice to craft professional, spiritual, and personal narratives which reflect the true essence of what God has called them to be.”

For 16 years Dr. Roz has coached and trained individuals and groups in corporations, youth organizations, churches, and universities. Her areas of focus range from professionalism and multicultural relationships to assertiveness and healthy intrapersonal (self) communication. Whether people desire to improve their public speaking skills as leaders in the private sector or their team-building abilities as members of faith-based organizations, her ultimate goal is to empower others to bridge the gap between their God-given potential and radical possibilities.

In 2012, Dr. Roz earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She also holds a Master of Arts in communication from Baylor University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas A&M University.

Before transitioning from full time university teaching to her ministry as an author, speaker, and trainer, Dr. Roz received the 2018 Light Your World award from Phi Kappa Chi.

My “Why”

I believe all people are storytellers with gifts but not all people are gifted in telling their stories with power and presence in various settings. This is where I come in. As an introvert who has been delivered from crippling fear and social anxiety through God’s grace, I want others to know how to effectively use the power of their own voice both intrapersonally (within themselves) and interpersonally.  Nothing ignites my passion to serve more than helping others cultivate their communication skills from the inside, out.

When people need assistance enhancing their ability to craft oral narratives as public speakers, I help them understand how to embrace and enhance the uniqueness of their own voice with purpose, presence, and poise.

When organizational members are experiencing change or need help relating to one another with professionalism and appreciation, I assist them in creating group narratives and practices that foster a greater commitment to excellence and synergy-based relationships.

When job seekers want to effectively chronicle their professional narratives via written (resumes or CVs) or oral (interview coaching) means, I help them convey the wealth of their experiences to potential employers in a compelling manner that leaves a favorable impression.
